PT. Indomobil Suzuki Sales (ISI) finally marketed Suzuki Mega Carry pick-up in the country with a target sales of 6,000 units by year's end, after five years of focus on these vehicles for the export market. Until last year, total exports of this small pick-up have reached approximately 30,688 units to 107 countries in various regions of the world, such as the Middle East, Latin America, Central America, and Africa. Exported models include pick-up with engine 1500 cc and 1,600 cc in accordance with the provisions of export destinations.
ISI said that Suzuki Mega Carry marketed in Indonesia is a product of Suzuki's assembly plant in Tambun, Bekasi. This vehicle has the same specifications with similar vehicles which are exported to many countries, the difference is only on machine. In Indonesia ISI only sells the Suzuki Mega Carry 1,500 cc.
According to ISI Four Wheeled Vehicles Sales Director, Davy Tuilan, pick-up demand with model and engine above Suzuki Carry that has been marketed in the country for a while is quite high. "At this early stage we are targeting sales of around 500 units per month. The target market is the small shop, florists, electronic merchants, and others," he said. While sales of Suzuki Carry pick-up 1.300 cc is targeted to reach 3,000 units per month.
In contrast to the Suzuki Carry pick-up that has been marketed in Indonesia, Mega Carry has a higher load capacity and a larger tub. This vehicle has a maximum torque of 12.8 Nm/3.000 pm with fuel consumption to reach 12.6 km per liter. Suzuki Mega Carry sells in Indonesia at a price Rp. 84 million (on the road of Jakarta).
